Happy Birthday Remy!

Well, it is a day late, but Happy Birthday Remy! We had a party at preschool yesterday, complete with a pinaca (yes, it is really a pinata, but not according to Remy). Remy got more Transformers than he needed and he had lots of fun!

5lb. 7 oz.

Remy came 4 weeks early and went straight to the NICU on oxygen and spent his first week there. We brought he and the oxygen home with us (along with a forever beeping saturation monitor). He had these two friends until he was one month old.

Remy has kept us in stitches since he could talk. Two of his first words were Wombat and Cougar. It took him a little bit longer to talk than most of his peers, but once he got going he hasn't stopped!

He loves watching movies and could live on treats. He is a very kind person! Other than treats he loves noodles, apples, granola bars and pancakes.

POTCBFC Part 2

The Charlie Bradshaw Fan Club convened again this past Saturday, with one new member added. Cody Baird has been inducted as the newest member of The Charlie Bradshaw Fan Club. Tate Bradshaw still remains in his office of President of said fan club. The fan club is planning its next activity which will take place on May 26 in Wellington, Utah.

Double Mint Fun!

So, we don't have twins, but we do have boys with birthdays a week apart. We decided to do a combined family party with some neighborhood friends that Remy and Tate have made. The boys had fun. Remy and Tate got some cool presents from Grandparents and Cousin Cody and Aunt Betsy and Uncle David (well, Aunt Betsy really, Uncle David just funded, which is really important too!) made Remy and Tate quillos. Remy had a Ratatouille cake and Tate had a dog cake.

Drifting Along....

....Like a Tumbling Tumble Weed.

We have had some strong winds the last few days, and since us country folk don't get a lotta excitement, we had a rip roaring time watching the tumble weed blow in. Yee Haw, It don't get much better than this.

Happy Birthday!

Happy Birthday Aunt Lisa! I hope you have a great day! I thought I would write as many fond memories about my sister as she is years old, BUT, I don't have that much time. Ha! So, anyway, since you are 10 years older than me, Ten will have to do.

Mandy's Top Ten Good Times with Lisa list! (in no particular order)

10-Watching Betty Boop Videos at your house when I was about 8, and running away from the bees that hung around your lilac bushes.
9-Almost falling out of the Volkswagon Bug car when we turned the corner and the door opened.
8-Sleeping over in your bed and having snorting contests. You always won.
7- You drowning the gnat in my ear and getting it out for me. (Thanks again)
6- Playing chase when I was just a wee small girl, you armed with a broom.
5- Spending the summers with you, getting our nails done, dressing up pretty, going to dinner and having soooo much fun!
4- Driving to the beach, no wait, the airport, in my swimming suit.
3-Playing games with you, deciding that Dad secretly worked for the gas company.
2- Sleeping with "the dogs" in New Mexico.
1- Watching you pick out the rice from the crust you were blind baking.

Lisa, you are my favorite sister and my best friend. You have been such a good support and example to me my whole life. I have been so blessed to have you for a sister. I love you, and hope you have a great birthday!

This sums it all up...

I had fixed the boys some lunch today. Tate will eat just about anything, but Remy is such a picky eater (reminds me of someone else I know, Okay, Okay, it's me, but I have gotten better in my old age!). SOoooo, I had him pick out some new things at the grocery store. He chose Chef Boyardee Alpha whatever tomato noodle things. Not my cup of tea, but I said to myself, "Self, you never know he may actually eat them."

So, I opened them up and heated them unceremoniously in the microwave and put them in front of my boys. Tate started eating and then stopped. Yuck mom! Well, all my hope rested with Chef Boyardee and Remy. Drumroll please...wah, wah wah, yuck mom! It was unanimous! Sorry Chef, the tribe has spoken, your not the biggest looser, No Deal!

But, wait! All our food problems were summed up as I went to clear the dishes, it was all there on Tates spoon.

It says SOS, if you can't read mini pasta.

Would You Like Fries with That?

Aunt Lisa, Uncle Mark and Cousins Trajan and Macey gave the boys a very cool McDonalds play set for Christmas. I decided to put it away for a while so that we would have something new to play with after all the Christmas high wore off. We got it out a little while ago and the boys have loved it! Thanks Miller Family!!

It's All Relative

****may contain offensive words****

So, Remy had Influenza last week and had a really high fever one night (105.6). Darrin gave him a priesthood blessing and we got him in the bathtub and cooled him down. The next day Remy was talking to me about the blessing that his dad gave him. We talked about the priesthood and that only boys get the gift of the priesthood and how cool it was that he would someday have the priesthood just like dad.
Fast forward to Today....
Somehow the subject of blessing and the priesthood came up (I can't for the life of me recall how)and I was asking Remy if he remembered what the priesthood was. I said, "who gets to have the priesthood?" Tate immediately raises his hand and shouts "Me!!" I am sure he had no idea what he was volunteering for, but hey it was great he volunteered!
Our conversation continued and I said, "Remember Remy only boys have the priesthood and girls get to have babies and be mommies?" He thought about it for a second and said thoughtfully, "So, is priesthood another word for penis?"
I about died laughing. I tried my hardest to hold it in because he was so sincere I didn't want to laugh at him. We explained that he had made a good observation but it wasn't exactly like that...hopefully he gets it and doesn't embarrass us in Primary one of these days!
