A written conversation.

During the summer, Remy was able to go to Cub Scout day camp.  While he was there, he was able to purchase a small bottle of dissapearing ink.  This cherished bottle of ink has provided hours of pranking fun.
Yesterday I went to walk down the stairs and I stepped in something wet.  It was dissapearing ink.  I tracked down the culprit, as I followed the trail of ink down the stairs.

Tate.

I knew that Remy would never waste his precious ink that way.

I informed Tate that he would have to do extra chores around the house to earn money to give to Remy so he could buy some more ink.

Today, Tate started his work detail and earned .50 towards the $2 he owes his brother.

Later on tonight  Remy came to me and asked for the rest of the money.  I informed him that Tate still needed to work it off.

He then brought me the following note:

Make shore Tate gets me 2 dollars by tomorrow or I will be upset.

We then proceeded to  have the following written conversation:

Me: Remy, I will work on Tate getting you the money, but we are going to do some fun things tomorrow, so I am not sure if he will have enough time to do all the work he needs to earn all the money tomorrow.

Remy: I need it to be in my hands by Friday or Saturday!

Me: I think you are being a little demanding, don't you think?

Remy: No

Me: I love you!

Remy: I need an answer!

He's gonna make a swell salesman one day.

Cornbelly's

The boys and I were able to go with Madeline and her family and Jerolynn's family to Cornbelly's a couple of weekend's ago.  I hadn't been since Remy was in kindergarten, and boy it was a blast!

They have so much to do there.  The kids ran from activity to activity and we didn't even get to do everything we (we, meaning the kids here, you know) wanted to before it got dark.

Here are some cute pictures of the kids having fun.

The kids loved everything, but the cow train and this big rocking chair were their favorites!

Jane Eyre, Revisted

I had a friend of mine ask about this post.  So, Amber, this is for you:

My dear Reader, I feel inclined to share my tale of chivy with you....

I have thus been reading Charlotte Bronte's novel Jane Eyre and as I have an inclination to do, I poured myself into the novel, becoming too intertwined with one, Jane Eyre.

Thus when my dashing Mr. Rochester arrived home from work, I was in such a disposition to receive interminable love, affection, attention and doting from my master.
He, on the other hand, was fatigued from his long work day. He was long past doting and doing anything but cleansing himself from the mire of his work with a long, soothing shower.

My Mr. Rochester entered the sanctuary of our washroom where he was greeted by the ingenious artwork entitled "half a tube of toothpaste on the bathroom mirror" painted by young Master Tate.
He balked at the newly painted masterpiece and cried out in choler as to why Mater Tate should be allowed to utilize our washroom and toothpaste to contemplate on the artistic things of the world.

In doing so poor Mr. Rochester spilled a whole cup of Q-tips on the floor.

I, sensing his displeasure, made a mental note to fire the maid and governess for their lack of attention to the "creative" outbursts of Master Tate. Mr. Rochester should never behold such a spectacle upon retiring to the washroom for a steamy shower.

Nevertheless, Reader, I bid you to come with me into my thoughts as I watched poor Mr. Rochester ceremoniously cleaning up the Q-tips.

Thought I; Phooey with the Q-tips. Come hug me, love me, behold my presence! Am I not more consequential than Q-tips?

"Leave yonder Q-tips, and come to me dear husband!" I called.

"I am cleaning up my mess." Mr. Rochester replied.

"Come Now, forget the Q-tips which do easily beset you, come to me, I shall have the maid clean them up later!!" I replied.

"I am Cleaning Up My Mess." Mr. Rochester replied with brevity.

"Oh, dear me, am I lowlier than a Q-tip in thine eyes?" I called as tears stained my eyes.

I am Jane Eyre, love me Mr. Rochester!

Reader, I shall not be reading romantic love stories, no matter how classic, for a long while. I am too emotionally involved in them.

Summer Day's #17

All the kiddies.

The water was freezing!! Remy didn't care, though!!

Gavin

Okay, I figured that I would tweak this a bit. I am only going to post, um, novel things that we do. I mean, how many posts of us folding clothes can you take, right?

On Wednesday we went to the splash park with the Flinders. The city built this splash park and it opened about a week ago. It is so small compared to the sheer number of kids that are in the city that we all had a good laugh. But, so far it hasn't been too over run. We'll see if it stays that way.

Summer Day's #16

Today after church and our Sunday naps, we played a game of Monopoly. I am quite sure my mother wouldn't approve of playing Monopoly on Sunday. Would it make it okay if we payed monopoly tithing on all our monopoly money?

Summer Day's #15

Yesterday we went to Huntington Canyon to have a picnic and get out of the heat.
As usual it was beautiful there and we had a great day.

The boys standing on a tree stump. I don't know what they are pointing at. I just made them do it for the picture.

Remy sitting on a log, waiting for his feet to dry after getting out of the coooolld river.

Tate standing in the river enjoying the cold cold water.

Summer Day's #14

On Friday we went to Provo to Grandma O.'s house to take her to all sorts of doctors appointments. So. Much. Fun.
It was nice to be with grandma, the boys always love playing at her house and eating lots of popsicles and fruit snacks.

My full service gas station. They even clean the lights for me!

Summer Day's #13

On Thursday, we played around at the Flinder's house and then we folded and put away mounds of clothes.

On a side note, Darrin is saving up to buy a Chevy K5 Blazer, and I have put in my two cents (literally and figuratively) that I would love for him to buy a 1969-1972 because they have a fully convertible top.....then the whole family can go topless! I think they look really really cool.
Anyway, on Thursday we were at the gas station and I saw this beauty. I fell in love. I had to take a picture and send it to Darrin so he could drool too.

Summer Day's #12

You thought I forgot, didn't you?

Heaven's no....just a little slow putting it on here.

Let's see....

On Wednesday Darrin and the boys had a rousing game of catch with the football in the backyard when Darrin got home from work.

Remy's Bobcat

In May Remy was able to receive his Bobcat in Cub Scouts. He worked hard to memorize and do all the things necessary for this. Way to go Remy!

Summer Day's #11

Yesterday we cleaned and went to swimming lessons and had taco salad for dinner. The cool thing about our taco salad was that we were able to use some lettuce from our garden. It was fresh and green and yummy!

Summer Day's #10

Yesterday was a whirlwind of family visiting!

First we went up to LDS Hospital to watch Aaron while his mommy visited with his brother. The boys were so enamored with Aaron and just loved holding him. They were so concerned that his blanket was always covering his feet and that he was happy.
Thanks for letting us watch Aaron!!!

Remy and his cousin. Remy was especially excited to see Aaron because Remy and Aaron were/are the same size when they were born. Remy just kept saying, "I just didn't think his hands would be so little!!"

Tate has the sweetest disposition when it comes to babies. I wouldn't be surprised at all to find out that he was deeply involved with the new little spirits in heaven.

Then we went to visit cousin's Charlie and Tyler. We didn't get to see them for very long, but we made the most out of it!

Summer Day's #9

On Sunday Tate gave his first talk in Primary! He gave a talk on the Holy Ghost and it included one of his favorite toys as a visual aid: a firetruck (the Holy Ghost is like a fire truck, it gives us warning signals). He did great and he kept the attention of all the primary kids....a feat in itself!

Brady came over to have dinner and spend the night with us. We had a Happy Belated Birthday cake for Brady and Darrin.

Summer Day's #8

On Friday night the boys went to their first Father and Son's Campout. They went to our Stake Campground in Fairfield. They had a blast. Darrin did not get any pictures. :(

On Saturday we were total bums. We napped and layed around. We had movie night and watched Yogi Bear.

Summer Days #5

More Swimming yesterday!

Remy and I started organizing the preschool toys into bin's and taking a picture to attach to the side of the bin. Remy LOVES to organize.

Summer Days #4

On Tuesday we started swimming lessons. Remy is now a level three and Tate is a level 1. They love to swim!

Summer Days #3

On Monday we played with our friends the Flinders.

Summer Days #2

Right after school let out, we took a trip to Yellowstone. It rained most of the time, which was fine with me because it made the park look all the more beautiful! We stayed in Island Park, ID in a cute little cabin and had a blast!! Thanks to Ma and Pa Bradshaw we also rode in style on our trip....thanks for letting us borrow your wheels!

Summer Days #1

I thought it would be fun to post a picture of what we do each day this summer. We'll see how consistent I am!!

To start off the summer, Tate and I had preschool graduation. My baby is going to Kindergarten in a few short months! We are sure proud of you Tate!
